AMAZING ALLIGATOR FUN FACTS:
ALLIGATORS have rounded heads and do not show
their teeth when their mouths are closed.
ALLIGATOR hearts beat in cool water (50
degrees Fahrenheit), only 5 times in a minute.
ALLIGATORS can eat one fifth of their body
weight in a single meal and not eat again for 2 years.
ALLIGATORS can run 26 miles per hour.
The salt water crocodile is a living relative of the ALLIGATOR
and can grow to be 28 feet long.
The ALLIGATOR has not changed
much over 65 million years,
but according to dinosaur scientists, they may
have had a relative
that had a body that was 50 feet long, with a
head, 6 feet long and chomping teeth, 4 feet long.
